In an ideal world a show will have the same production accountants from pre-close right through to delivery. In the real world often this doesn’t happen. Production accountants can often leave a show at wrap for several reasons – not least they have already spent most of the accounting budget and want to move to another full time role before being held to budget for the rest of the show; sad but true!
Anchor are structured to enable us to pick up such loose ends as cost efficiently as possible if that’s required. We also find that the tail end of a show is often when producers need most help in optimising the remaining budget as contingency runs low and any failings in production come to the fore in post. As producers we have ‘been there’ and have a wealth of practical experience and contacts to offer as part of the more traditional post accounting role.
